Management | Mission Statement | History
The management and control of the Association is vested with a Board of Directors.
The Combined Charities Incorporated Board is elected at the Annual General Meeting from the appointed representatives nominated by member organisations. Directors serve on the Board on a voluntary basis and to promote consistency, serve for 3 year terms and retire on a rotating basis.
The Board may appoint up to three Directors to provide specific experience and expertise in the industries serviced by CCI Group Purchasing. Appointed Directors serve for a twelve month period. Only member appointed representatives are eligible for election or appointment to the Board.
The Association employs an Executive Officer who carries out day-to-day operations and deals with member and supplier issues.
The composition of the Board and management demonstrates the diverse array of skills expertise and experience necessary to achieve the best possible outcomes for the Association's constituent member groups.
BOARD MEMBERS
Kelvin Dickens -Elected Chair
Corporate Services Manager, Barossa Village Inc.
Kelvin was a founding Director and past Chairman of Combined Charities and after a brief absence, returned to the Board in 2002. Kelvin has held many industry positions including State and Federal peak organisation's, senior management of leading aged care and community service organisation's and within the Uniting Church.
Steve Hope - Elected Deputy Chair
Senior Manager, Property & Purchasing with Resthaven Inc.
Steve has been a CCI Director since 2001, and has had extensive experience in Building & Engineering Services, managing properties, contracts, building projects and support services for the past 25 years, mainly in the healthcare industry and holds qualifications in electrical engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Engineering & Building Services. Steve is a member and past President of the Inst. Hospital Engineers, the Inst. Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and the Inst. Plant Engineers.
Paul Donkin - Elected Director
CCI Board Member since 2001 and Chairman since October 2003
Paul has held a number of senior management roles in large contract catering organisation's, both in Australia and the UK. From 1990 to 2001, he was the managing director of a leisure catering company based in Adelaide. Paul's 34 years experience in food service includes the supply of catering, food and non-food supplies and equipment to large, remote area communities in Far North Queensland, Tasmania, Papua New Guinea, Moomba, Roxby Downs
Kym Walton - Elected Director
Purchasing Manager- LHI Retirement Services
Kym has had over 20 years experience in Purchasing and Warehouse Management mainly in the following industries Healthcare – consumables and equipment, Packaging – industrial and catering, Food services – catering and distribution, Stationary – wholesale and Engineering - industrial. With LHI is on the following committee’s HACCP Food Safety and Infection Control.
Kym has a Diploma of Business and is a qualified Quality Assurance Auditor.
Stuart Merrylees - Elected Director
Senior Manager Nutrition & Catering ACH Group.
Stuart has been a CCI Board member since 2001 and manages the ACH Groups central Cook Chill production kitchen at its Rostrevor site. Stuart has broad experience in nutrition, catering and distribution in both the acute hospital and aged care sectors in South Australia and Victoria and is a committee member for the Institute of Hospitality in Health Care and holds membership with The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Inc.
Andrew Zeuner - Elected Director
Manager Finance and IT - Uniting Care Wesley Port Adelaide
Andrew joined the CCI board in 2005, He is qualified as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and has over eight years experience in finance roles within the not for profit industry. He currently manages the Finance and Information Technology functions at Uniting Care Wesley Port Adelaide and has been actively involved in other projects representing the not for profit and charitable sectors including the Uniting Churches Synergy project.
Philip Vaughan - Elected Director

Jenny Malloy - Appointed Director
Director Surrey Downs Child Care Centre
Jenny was appointed to the Board in August 2004 as a representative of the child care sector. Jenny has tertiary qualifications in Community Services child care and management as well as education and training qualifications. She has lectured at the Torrens Valley Institute of TAFE and has facilitated subjects for the Diploma in Community Services (Children's Services) and is active in bodies where she represents the child care sector and advocate for high quality children's services.
Kevin Maczkowiack - Appointed Director
Business Services Manager
Kevin was appointed to the Combined Charities Board in October 2007, his current portfolio includes Contract Management, Purchasing and is the Privacy Officer for Life Care. Kevin has extensive experience in Hospitality and has implemented and manages Hotel Services for Life Care and developed the Food Safety Plan and safe work manuals and is involved in policy development.
Kevin holds Cert 4 in Business Management and Contract Management from Adelaide University.
MANAGEMENT
Marcia Evans
Executive Officer CCI.
Marcia comes from a background of Education, both in the public and private sectors. She has also held management roles in Retail, Facilities Management, Community and Volunteer organizations, and the Arts sector. She has extensive experience in customer service, procedure and policy development, and business growth and development.
